Lavender Farm

Cava de Marcelo and Aleyha Granja de Lavanda – All-Inclusive

Are you looking for a new Baja adventure less traveled and close to home? If you love natural and aged artisan cheeses, paired with a fine wine in a beautiful setting, put La Cava de Marcelo on your list of Awesome Experiences.  Our Teacher Guides take you up into the Ojos Negros Valley,  heading east out of Ensenada, where you can take in the pastures, vineyards and farmland as far as the eye can see. Along with Marcelo’s Ranch, we will be stopping at Aleyha-Granja de Lavanda which is right down the dirt road.  Norma, Marcelo’s sister, has a lavender farm that produces lovely creams, lotions, soaps and more!

The Happy Cows on this dairy farm produce milk which get its flavor from the fresh alfalfa, clover and hay they graze on, this gives the cheese and butter, Oh My Gosh the Butter!, their unique flavors!

When we arrive, you will be blown away by the serenity and aromas of the surrounding countryside, we highly suggest that you stop for a minute, two or three to take it all in. You will be learning the Ramonetti cheesemaking process, enjoying a sampling of their delicious cheeses and pairing this tasting with the rich flavor and mellow finish of Romanetti 1911; a blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet and Petite Sirah.  You can choose to have lunch or an early dinner at Marcelo’s which is of course farm to table, you cannot get any closer to the farm!

At Aleyha-Granja, they grow the lavender, extract the essential oils, and make their aromatic products and we will go on a tour for you to see the process.  You can also kick back and let the tranquility envelop you, have some vino!  They also have a farm and ocean-to-table menu if you so desire to try something delicious!
